2026 pricing breakdown

The pricing nobody publishes

Real 2026 numbers for SportsEngine, LeagueApps, TeamSnap and UpperHand, what a custom site actually costs from a public bid record, and the point where a flat fee stops being cheaper than a percentage — including where we lose.

You’ll get it on the next screen — no waiting on an email. Ticking the box above is optional and doesn’t change that.

Tournament organizations

Registration, brackets and field assignments in three different places.

One system for entries, schedules and communications — on a site teams can actually find when they search for your event.

  • Entries in one tool, brackets in another, field assignments on a whiteboard
  • Team communications by group text
  • Vendors and sponsors tracked in a spreadsheet
  • A site that doesn’t rank, so teams never find the event
  • Results posted late, or not at all

Entry fees land in your own Stripe account and settle to your bank. We never sit in the middle of your entry money.

Your first year

Right now you’d be buying this twice.

A template platform gives you software and no site. A web shop gives you a site and no back office. Here is what your first year costs paying for both, against paying for one.

What moves our price, and what doesn’t. We never take a percentage, so doubling your registration revenue on the same number of teams doesn’t change our invoice by a cent. What does change it is crossing a tier — Club Platform starts at $3,000 and $149 a month, and past that Pro Platform starts at $6,000 and $299 a month. That step is why the middle column isn’t one number. The card fees beside it are yours, not ours: they go to Stripe on your own account and we never touch them. They’re in the table because the platform’s percentage on the left has card processing baked into it, so leaving them off would compare their price with processing against ours without.

And after year one, most of you pay us more. At the larger sizes above, between $802 and $1,419 a year more than the platform on its own — their subscription is cheaper than ours and we don’t take a percentage of your registrations to earn the difference back. You stay ahead on what you’ve spent in total for about 8 years, because you aren’t buying the website a second time; after that you’re paying for the platform and the people running it, not for a saving. The exception is the smallest row: at $20,000 the Club Platform starting price is low enough that you stay about $134 a year ahead indefinitely, because the platform you would otherwise buy still needs its own site maintained. That is one row out of three, and we’d rather point at it than let you assume it applies to yours. We’d rather you knew all this now than found it at your third renewal.

How this is calculated. Left column: SportsEngine Premium at $1,299/year plus 3.25% + $1.50 per registration (their transaction fee includes card processing), plus a $13,200 custom site build — $13,200 being the lowest year-one athletics site build in the Joliet Junior College public bid record B20050 — with $500/year maintenance from year two. Our column: MAD Sports Hub at the start of each tier’s published range — $3,000 setup plus $149/month on Club Platform, and the same treatment on Pro. A bigger scope costs more, up to the top of the range on the pricing page, so treat every figure here as the cheapest version of us and not the only one. That is the whole of what you pay us. The card-fees column is your own Stripe account at their standard 2.9% + $0.30, which we neither charge nor receive; it is shown because the platform’s percentage on the left already contains its own. Both assume a $450 average season fee. One thing we’ll say plainly: on platform fees alone, without the site build, a flat monthly only beats a percentage above roughly $371,200 in annual registrations — roughly a 71-team organization, so for practical purposes we are the more expensive option on fees and the website is the whole of the difference. That is why the gap above is a year-one figure and not a yearly one. These are estimates for comparison, not a quote.

How we compare

The middle of this market is empty.

One end sells template software to clubs. The other sells custom sites to college athletic departments. Nobody sells a program both, at a price a program can pay.

Template platforms here means SportsEngine, LeagueApps, TeamSnap and similar; pricing referenced elsewhere on this site is SportsEngine’s tiers per third-party 2026 analysis. LeagueApps and UpperHand don’t publish base pricing and charge the website as a separate add-on, so SportsEngine’s percentages shouldn’t be read as theirs. College athletics vendors means SIDEARM Sports and PrestoSports, neither of which sells below the college level. Comparison is by category, not by any single product’s current feature list.

What we build

A website is half of it. The back office is the half nobody builds you.

Straight answers

Questions we get.

We already have a website.

Most programs we work with did. The question isn't whether you have one — it's whether it does anything. Can parents register on it? Can you pull a roster out of it? Can a sponsor see what they paid for? That's the part we build.

We’re on SportsEngine / LeagueApps / TeamSnap.

Then you already know the model. Here's the part that usually gets missed: that gets you a template. A site that actually looks like your program is a separate purchase, and public bid records put that at $13,200 and up. We're both in one product, which is where the first-year difference comes from — the full arithmetic is on our pricing page.

So will we save on transaction fees?

No — on fees alone you’ll pay us a little more, and we’d rather say that now than have you find it later. Their percentage includes the card processing; our flat fee doesn’t, because you keep your own Stripe account. A flat monthly only overtakes a percentage above roughly $371,200 in registrations, which is a bigger organization than almost anyone reading this. What you save at any size is the separate website build. And our price doesn’t move with what you collect — it steps once, if you cross from Club Platform into Pro Platform, and never again after that.

Our program is small. Is this for us?

Yes. We build for single-team clubs and for departments running every sport in the building. What changes with size is how much the back office gives you back — one roster is manageable in a spreadsheet, ten rosters and their dues are not. Tell us what you're running and we'll tell you straight what it would change for you.

A parent in our program builds websites.

Great for the site itself. The part that's hard is the back end — roster management, dues, budgets, sponsor CRM, eligibility docs — plus somebody who answers when it breaks during registration week. That's what the monthly fee buys.

Who owns the site?

You do. Your domain, your content, your data. Export it any time.

We’re a high school and everything goes through the district.

Common. Two paths: we can respond to a formal RFP, or we work with your booster club, which usually has its own funds and its own decision. The booster route typically takes weeks instead of months.

Can it handle entries and brackets, or just the website?

Both. Registration and payment, brackets, schedules and field assignments, plus the communications that go out when a field changes. That’s the back office half — the site is the other half.

How much does search actually matter for us?

More than for most of our clients. Teams find events by searching for them, so a page nobody can find costs you entries before the season starts. The build is structured for that rather than treating it as an afterthought.

The offer

See it before you decide anything.

We’ll build you a free mockup of your program’s site. No cost, no obligation. Like it, we’ll talk. Don’t, and you keep the design.
